The Inventive Update! (Indev 12 Release)
Indev 12 is here!
Whilst there are some significant changes to the way the player gains power in this update, this was a very focused update. Most improvements focused on the new invention and component systems. This is an exciting time though, as this is the last core feature the game was missing! From this point on all changes will be on improving the core game experience, improving visuals and game-feel, and revising things that don't work. We're starting on the road to an official alpha/early access release!

Full Changelog
- Implemented a global stat system with support for dynamic modifiers
- Implemented components, tower/train equipment items that apply stats and modifiers
- Replaced 'gold' with life, enemies now just have to escape the level to deal damage
- Re-did the HUD wave counter and wave clock
- Added new life elements to the HUD
- Added train speed and direction indicators to the HUD
- Added a scrap counter/upgrade tracker to the HUD; this shows how close the player is to 'levelling up' (gaining an upgrade)
- Added a cooldown bar/display to towers
- Added ui animation for scrap gain
- Towers are now drawn dynamically from component graphics, instead of from a fixed graphic
- Removed previous tower building submenu and the placeholder upgrade submenu
- Removed carriage adjust submenu
- Greatly improved the detail of the stats submenu
- Added some train stats that display when a train engine is highlighted during build mode
- Added hover text to all stats and components
- Implemented an inventory and equip menu inside the build menu
- Implemented a 'level up' or upgrade system which can be opened once sufficient scrap is collected
- Improved feedback for starting a new wave
- Added a prompt for how to call the first wave
- Added a reward for calling waves early
- Fixed inconsistencies with build menu
- Fixed inconsistencies with the tower system
- Incrementally improved interface visuals and sounds
- Rebalanced all towers and projectiles
- Increased tower detection radius across the board
- Increased the speed of enemies, projectiles, and the player
- Changed spread so that base spread always applies and spread maximum only affects spread gain
